Japan Wins WBC (again)

The Japanese won the WBC las tnight, defeating Korea 5-3.  Ichiro, who struggled for much of the tournament, had four hits!  He lined the game winning two-run single into center in the top of the 10th, and Yu Darvish closed the victory for the Japanese.  I know most Americans don’t care about the WBC.  I certainly don’t.  But, I would like to see the US win one day.  They should try to get some better players next time, like Mark Teixeira.  There was a great article on Yahoo! by Tim Brown yesterday.  It explains why the Asians win, because they paly a great system of baseball.  The link is below.  I also really would like to see a team other than Japan win.  Two years in a row is enough.  Also, for 2013, the team should have someone else than Davey Johnson manage.  He made some questionable calls in BOTH the WBC and Olympics.  Anyway, I am glad it is over.  Personally, I think it is a waste of time, it is terrible playing it during Spring Training.  Here’s to US luck in 2013.
